MEET MICHELLE

Michelle Kegley, MS, LMHC, LPC

PSYCHOTHERAPIST SERVING BOCA RATON-DELRAY BEACH, FL AND ATLANTA, GA

Since my earliest memories I have intuitively connected with others on an extra sensory level. I seem to have been born with an innate ability to sense the feelings of others hidden from their own awareness. I’m able to tap into the underlying activation of behaviors at the root cause level and see the route to create meaningful change. These abilities have received much tuning since my early years. Tuning resulting from my own self healing journey which laid the foundation to learning what works and what doesn’t work to create lasting change.

My personal recovery from my own wounds, patterns and addictions began 17 years ago. Entering Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in 1998 I eventually helped other alcoholics stay sober. Upon further recovery I began helping non-alcoholics outside of AA through founding Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families (ACoA) of Metro Atlanta.

Throughout the years of helping others I recognized two common threads: 1) sober alcoholic or non-alcoholic, all our adult patterns and triggers ‘origin’ated from our family of ‘origin’ – our emotions, thoughts, behaviors and relationships were a direct reflection of childhood relationships and early learning transferred through the family system and 2) after all the talking we did about it many of us did not experience deep lasting change – our patterns and triggers still remained.

I wanted to know why real change wasn’t happening and how to create such needed change. Thereafter in mid-life it was revealed to me it was time to begin helping others as a career. While acquiring my Master’s education, all my research evidenced that just talking about it doesn’t get to the root cause level. However accessing our right brain and bodies within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship does! As a result I acquired specialize clinical training in Experiential Psychotherapies based on emotional memory, neurobiology of relationship attachment, psychosomatic (mind/body) healing and brain neuroscience to help clients experience deep lasting change at the root cause level.
